This passage gives us a sense of just how important it is to God that we have a close relationship with Jesus. God not only wants us to know His Son Jesus because He is our Savior, but also because He gives us understanding and insight into who God is and what He’s like. 

You see, God can be difficult to understand and comprehend—and rightly so. After all, He’s . . . God. But that doesn’t mean we can’t understand Him enough to connect with Him. In fact, as this verse reminds us, if we want to understand a little bit about who God is, all we have to do is look to Jesus. 

Remember: God wants to be in relationship with us—He wants us to know Him! 

Today, ask a close friend or your Small Group Leader for one thing they know to be true about Jesus and His character. And remember: If it’s true about Jesus, it’s true about God.
