Faith Is the Currency of Heaven The faith of believers is beautiful in the sight of God. Faith is the currency of heaven. Jesus called His disciples to walk in great faith. He put them in situations where He expected them to partner with Him to do the impossible. He put bread in their hands, and they miraculously fed thousands. The miracle of multiplication happened as the disciples served. Jesus was demonstrating for them how to walk in the kind of faith that moves mountains. God calls us to move in great faith, too. But we don’t have to work up such faith for ourselves. The Bible tells us that every believer is given a measure of faith. We can’t manufacture that kind of gift; we just need to receive and embrace it. In fact, the moment you made Jesus your Lord, you began to walk in faith. Let’s look at two kinds of faith, which I call two wings that carry divine revelation: enduring faith and a gift of faith . Enduring faith is used to describe the type of faith in a disciple’s life that steadily grows through intimacy with Jesus. It is developed in our character over a lifetime of intimate connection with and obedience to Him. This type of faith is seen through the life of every disciple, beginning at salvation. Enduring faith continues to grow by degrees of faithfulness to God and consistently walking in the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The gift of faith , or we can call it mountain-moving faith , is a divinely inspired confidence that unlocks power from heaven to heal the sick and perform miracles. It is one of the three “power gifts” 1 Corinthians 12 mentions together: gift of faith , gifts of healing , and working of miracles . These three gifts often work together to bring heaven’s power to earth by using humble believers like you and me. The source of a gift of faith is divine revelation. As I said, we cannot create it. Such faith comes from listening to God’s voice and boldly obeying what we hear. This mountain-moving gift requires us to lay hold of God’s advancing Kingdom. The question is, Will you and I lay hold of heaven’s power? In order to advance the Kingdom of God, we need to employ the currency of heaven. We need to embrace both enduring faith and a gift of faith and believe that miracles are for today!
