Wouldn’t it be dandy if there was a neon sign or billboard in the sky from God? If only God would send you a text stating your purpose or at the very least, directions to tell you which way to go. Let’s all agree, direction with assurance would make moving into our purpose easier. But that’s not the way God works. However, there are ways to know your purpose. It all begins when you invite God into your life through salvation.

Next, the adventure begins: God shapes you to be like Him. The work of grace is a finished work. You don’t need to succumb to the pressures to perform, or be better than others, or feel left out, no more “doing the work for grace.” Grace is won for you by Jesus! Grace permits you to be His child, by faith alone.

He also sent us His Helper, the all-powerful Holy Spirit, who comes equipped to prepare you with your roadmap. The Bible was given to us to instruct us and shine the light on the pathway we are to take. You might think the Bible is irrelevant to your purpose, but I disagree. The reliability of the Scriptures rests on the perfect character and integrity of God Himself.

God speaks through the Bible’s human authors:

“Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place — until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in scripture ever came from the prophets own understanding or from human initiative. No, these prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.” 2 Peter 1:19-21

Salvation, our eternal destination, is Heaven which is sealed and secure! That makes us secure in God’s love, grace, kindness, and goodness. Now, our purpose is to represent. It’s a high honor to be living as a representative of a Heavenly Kingdom. You’re an ambassador! You are not elected by people but sealed by God Himself. Ambassadors don’t represent themselves but citizens of their country. We represent the love given freely to all who come to Him. Because of Jesus we have a citizenship in Heaven. Let’s live like it! Let's live with purpose on purpose!
