DAY 3 OF 3

Saved to Become His Children

He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:5 (ESV)

Religious people think that all must have godly character in order to be saved. But the Christian faith is the other way round. According to the Bible, godly character cannot be built with our own effort; it can only be built by the renewal of the Holy Spirit, who resides in us the moment we confess Jesus as Lord. Moreover, building godly character is a life-long journey that includes many times of repentance of our sins, giving up bad influences, learning from mistakes and getting back up again.

As we dwell in God’s kindness and love, we are constantly renewed and washed clean by the Holy Spirit who makes us new creations, pure, holy and blameless. We are saved to become the children of the living God.

Prayer

Dear God, thank You for Your amazing grace. It’s because of Your love for us that we are saved. We are grateful for undertaking our case and for being our great defender. We love You with all our heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
