Through the Bible: Ephesians

DAY 3 OF 3

Walk in Love

And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 5:2. (NIV)
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Ephesians 6:13 (NIV)

‘Love is not something you feel, it is something you do’- David Wilkerson. Throughout the Bible, we read of many lives being radically transformed because of God’s redeeming love, His Agape love demonstrated ultimately through Jesus. As Christ followers, we are called to be ‘salt and light of the world.’ Paul reminded us to ‘walk in His love’ in our relationships both with God and with man. We will be confronted with moments of temptations, the brokenness of life and may succumb by responding in fleshly, worldly inclinations that will pull us away from Him. Paul calls us to be equipped with the ‘armour of God’, being alert and prayerful at all times. We are to put on love, for ‘Love conquers all’, dispelling the darkness that seeks to encroach in. Through the overflow of His Love in us, His supernatural Kingdom power and grace is activated, His goodness and mercy follows.

Prayer

Father God, thank You that You have given us the weapons of warfare and showed us Your example. May we not be fighting the wrong battles but embrace a Kingdom eyesight, surrendered to You to walk in love, speaking life. In Jesus's name, Amen.
