I Am Who Jesus Says I Am

DAY 3 OF 3

Read Together

“Mean. Unwanted. Irresponsible.”

If someone said those words about you, you may feel hurt, angry, or sad. If someone keeps saying words like that to you, you may even feel like they hate you. But those hurtful things are not the truth about you. What’s true is what Jesus says about you.

You’re not mean. Jesus says you’re His friend.

You’re not unwanted. Jesus says He chose you.

You’re not irresponsible. Jesus trusts you to share His Good News with the world and He is with you to help you do it!

Trust in Jesus. When you believe what He says about you, it can heal your heart.

Talk Together

  • How do you feel when someone says things about you that aren’t true?
  • What kinds of things do you think Jesus would say about you?
  • What are some kind, helpful things you can say about others to show them Jesus loves them?

Focus Together

Do this focus activity as a family so your child can repeat it on their own when they face difficult situations.

  • Breath in deeply and say, “Jesus says …”
  • Exhale slowly and say, “I am ___.” Fill in the blank with something Jesus says about you.
  • Repeat as often as you like. Fill in the blank with the same words, or choose other things Jesus says about you. Examples: loved, amazing, wonderful, strong, brave, accepted, known, seen, chosen, generous, etc.

Study Together

Read today's Bible verses as a family. Talk about how they can help you remember this truth: I am who Jesus says I am.

Have Fun Together

  • Find some things around your home you can use to make name tags.
  • Instead of writing your names on the name tags, write something Jesus says about you.
  • Put on your name tags and take a family picture.
  • If you’d like, share your experience on social media and tag the #LCParents community.
