Nehemiah: A Model Prayer WarriorSample

Just as the antagonist in Nehemiah’s story scoffed at his efforts, you too may be disappointed by the people you turn to for help. Perhaps you've been let down by people you thought would support you, encourage you, and be present for you. If God calls you into Radical Christianity - it will be essential that you have Christ-followers praying alongside you. But just like Nehemiah, He will bring those of like mind and like calling into this with you. He doesn’t expect us to do it alone, and He doesn’t expect us to do it without Him.

As Nehemiah says in response to the naysayers mocking his efforts to build up the walls, “The God of heaven will help us succeed. We, his servants, will START building this wall (Nehemiah 2:20).“

Chapter 3 recognizes each family and the head of the family's efforts and accomplishments as far as the wall is concerned. When God calls you into an adventure with Him, very rarely will He call you alone. You may not even be the first one He called. But when you say yes, you may have the distinction of being the first who said YES! What a joy to know that you were like Caleb and that you'd headed out with Jesus for Kingdom Work.

Nehemiah’s calling did not make sense to many people around him. It may be the same for you! Your calling may bring you face to face with opposition. You may need to rally your troops to accomplish the God-dream that your Heavenly Daddy has placed upon your heart.

I personally have found that God-sized dreams are the ones that kind of scare you- probably because without God, there’s just no way this will work. But work it will - if you step out in faith and wait for God to do as He has promised and bless the work of your hands.

Will you just start….whatever it is God has placed upon your heart...just take the first few steps and know that the God of heaven will help you succeed?
