When you make Jesus King, it simply means that you put him on the throne of your heart where he belongs. When he is king, your thoughts, words, and actions all model him. He guides your every step. This is an excellent thing because Jesus is the perfect king. Making Jesus King also means that you trust the Bible as the ultimate authority in your life because the Bible is God’s word to us. Trusting Jesus as king means believing that every word he said is true. We can trust the Bible because of the fact that it has proven to be true time and time again. Throughout history, the things that the Bible says have been accurate. It can be easy only to follow bits and pieces of the Bible but pretend like other parts don’t exist. Making Jesus King means trusting that all of the Bible is true and following God’s instructions for how to live. The best way to do that is simply by knowing what his word says by spending time reading the Bible. The Bible is how God speaks to us- so spend some time today discovering what he wants to tell you. 

Challenge: The best way to follow God’s word is to know what it says. Commit to spending time reading scripture each day this week. Practice reading and writing down questions you may have or things that stand out to you as you dive into God’s word.
