Jesus-Centered Family Devotions

DAY 4 OF 7

Read aloud: “Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.’” (Matthew 19:14) Say: Kids often can’t do what they want to do. They can’t ride all the rides at the carnival. Can’t go to some movies. Can’t stay up as late as grown-ups. And they never get to drive the car! Take turns in your family answering this question: What’s something I’d do if I were just a little bit older? And why do I want to do it? When everyone has answered, say: No matter how old you are, you can always come to Jesus. Kids, grown-ups…Jesus wants all of us to come to him! Let’s ask Jesus how he wants us to come to him. Please close your eyes and listen quietly. If a word or idea comes to you, let’s talk about it when a minute has passed; maybe it’s an idea from Jesus for our family. After one minute of silence, ask if anyone heard anything. Perhaps Jesus has a message for your whole family or someone in it.
