When you see the word “call,” what comes to mind? Most of us probably think about using our phones to actually call someone to talk—someone who is miles, states, or even countries away from us. 

But the word “call” in today’s passage isn’t referring to someone who’s far away. In fact, it’s the exact opposite! This verse tells us that when we call out to God for any reason—about the little details in life or about big situations that have us worried—He is already there, waiting and ready to listen. 

God is near to us; all we have to do is call on Him! 

The next time you pray, don’t think about your prayer as having to cover some great distance to get to God.Instead, remember that God is already with you. Because of that, you can call on Him easily.
