Messiah For You

Dag 1 van 5

## Times are changing Think back to a year ago. You were in a different grade at school. You had a different hairstyle. You may have even had different friends than you do today. It’s because we live in a world that constantly changes – all the time! The only constant we have is the promise of God’s eternal kingdom. David knew this well because God promised it to Him. When David was settled in his palace, God came to his servant, Nathan, with a word for David, “The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you: When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.” God knew the trouble that David had experienced here on Earth. He was ignored by his family, had wicked people chasing after him for most of his life, and faced giants in battle. Can you relate to David’s story? God promised David he would be king when he was just a boy, and that promise came true. So when God promised David that his reign would never end, do you think David believed that would come true, too? God wasn’t talking about an earthly kingdom. He was telling David that he was a part of God’s Kingdom here on earth. We all have our challenges. But, what is great about our challenges is that they are temporary! We have a Kingdom to look forward to in Heaven with no more suffering or heartache. Though the things of this world are always changing, God’s eternal Kingdom is not. Discover the impact God’s kingdom can have in your life in tomorrow’s devotional. P.S. In the Old Testament we read stories of people expecting the Messiah. Who is the Messiah for you?
