It was always so good to see Jesus, to be with him and to hear what he had to say. Sometimes amazing things happened – things that no one could explain – except that it was Jesus who had done them. When Jairus needed to speak with Jesus, the crowd that had formed would probably have let him go straight to the front of the queue. After all, Jairus was in charge of the synagogue. He was an important, busy man. If he needed to see Jesus urgently, then see Jesus he must – as soon as possible. But would it be too late? His daughter was dying. Would Jesus get there in time? And now, some woman had stopped Jesus! What was she thinking? Couldn’t she see that everyone was in a hurry? OK, so she had been ill for years, but surely another day wouldn’t make that much difference, would it? She should have waited! Frustration all round... Why is it that we always want God to work to our needs, our timing and our expectations? TALKABOUT Why do you think Jairus thought Jesus could heal his daughter? Why do you think Jesus agreed to help? TALKING WITH GOD TOGETHER Pray for anyone you know who is unwell, asking God to help them and heal them. Is there anything you could do for them, as a family?
