GOD NEVER LETS GO
When I was in 8th grade, I went on a rappelling trip with my dad. Rappelling is where you are harnessed onto a rope, lean off the edge of a cliff, and lower yourself down the side while someone else supports you until you reach the ground. For a 13-year-old who was afraid of heights, I was dreading this experience. The only thing that convinced me to go off the edge of the cliff was that my dad was the one holding the rope. I trusted my dad, I knew that he was strong enough to hold me up. Once I leaned back and began to be lowered down the cliff, I couldn’t see my dad anymore, which made me afraid. But even though I couldn’t see my dad, I knew that he promised to be there for me no matter what happened! I could still hear his voice and feel how he was supporting me.
Isn’t our relationship with God similar? Even when we’re afraid, we can still hear His voice and feel Him holding us. Even in the moments of life when it’s difficult to see God, God promises he will never abandon us. When we sin or make a mistake, it doesn’t matter. We believe that God will be the One to keep holding onto us.
Even though you can’t see Him with your eyes, where in your life do you see that God is holding onto you?
