Promises Kept; Prophecies Fulfilled Matthew wrote his Gospel account especially for his Jewish readers. In nearly every chapter he relates an event in Christ’s life to a prophecy or prediction made hundreds of years before. The one referenced here is the clear indication that the Messiah’s ministry would have an important healing component. Aren’t you glad he cares about the quality of our lives both here and in Glory? Prayer: Today, dear Heavenly Father, I’m thankful. You have given us health, you’ve protected us from all sorts of ailments, and even in sickness you’ve ‘carried’ us along in your loving arms. May I be willing to share your healing touch with others and, when necessary, walk with them through tough times as well. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
