DAY 2 OF 3

The Seven Attributes of Wisdom and the Fruit of Righteousness

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partially and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:17-18 (NKJV)

Every now and then we all face challenging situations, and in those moments, we often wish that we could have more wisdom to handle the situations. In James 3:13- 8, James describes the difference between worldly wisdom and godly wisdom.

Worldly wisdom encourages one to be self-centered, putting our own interests before the needs of others. It teaches one to use intelligence, money, “people connection,” and power to solve problems and to achieve our selfish ambition. Godly wisdom, on the other hand, is about having a godly lifestyle–a lifestyle where one commits to live peacefully and humbly in full confidence that God will provide.

James concludes by stressing that the fruit of righteousness is obtained when one has sown seeds of peace–a much needed ingredient in this time of trouble and war.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your words on godly wisdom. Help me to live a godly lifestyle and be a blessing to others. Father, You know every decision I need to make and every challenge I face. Give me strength, wisdom, and direction to deal with the situations. Amen.
