DAY 5 OF 8

Jesus’ Teaching Through His Journey to Jerusalem

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God. Mark 10: 25 (ESV)

We see in these chapters how Jesus taught us to be different from the world.

For example, can we divorce as the law allows it? Jesus teaches us that divorce should not be an option as we are one with our spouse.

Is it easy for the wealthy to enter the Kingdom of heaven? Wait until they learn that they need to give up everything on earth and seek only treasures in Heaven.

The temple is meant to be a sacred place, so Jesus drove out all who were buying and selling in the temple courts. Childlike faith gives us easy access to the Lord; He treasures a pure heart. He challenges us to act in faith, to be pure followers who pursue His Kingdom more than anything on Earth, even when it does not fit into the world's standards.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the teachings that give us faith. We pray with faith, and by Your authority, we claim victory in life. We want to put Your principles in action, not worldly principles. We want to draw people around us to You, Lord. Only You give us such peace and love so we can act boldly in Your name. We pray all these in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
