DAD SHOWS UP

What is one thing you can’t live without? For me, it’s my phone. I use my phone to check the time, listen to music, message my friends, look up info, keep up with other people’s stories. 

But as much as I love my phone, I can still drop it and leave it places. You know the sheer panic that sets in when you leave your phone somewhere? Your heart is thumping. You start to sweat. Maybe you throw up a silent prayer or begin bargaining. 

“If there’s any way you can make it appear, God. Really, I’ll do anything...”

We all know the desperation of being separated from something we love. But do you want some good news?

We never have to be separated from the One we love. Jesus chose to be separated from God for a short time, so we never have to be. God will never leave us or abandon us. We will never do anything to push Him away or make Him stop loving us. 

Your heavenly Dad thinks you’re interesting. He finds your jokes funny. He cheers louder than anyone when you accomplish something big — whether it’s a C on a test, a lopsided cartwheel, or mustering the courage to talk to a classmate. 

Your Dad is always celebrating you. Give Him a chance, and see how much He loves you.
