Who Is Jesus For You? Sample

Who Is Jesus For You?

DAY 3 OF 8

Jesus is full of grace and truth for you

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Picture John, the aging apostle, closer to Jesus than any of the disciples. He reflects back on those three incredible years with Jesus, spending day and night in his presence. He smiles. He marvels.

Then, guided by the Spirit, he pens the next words: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Yes! That’s it—glory. That’s the only word for it. That’s what we saw in Jesus; the glory of God.

Can you see Jesus, full of glory? See his love, his immense and powerful love.

See him heal the hurting people.

See him touch the untouched leper.

See him weep at the death of his friend Lazarus.

See him die for the sins of the world.

See his wisdom. Listen as he teaches like no man ever taught.

See the crowds when he gives the Sermon on the Mount, for they are amazed at the teaching of the wisest teacher of all time.

See his power. Oh, what power! He calms the storm. He walks on water. He heals the sick. He defeats the demonic. He feeds the thousands. He raises the dead.

See his grace. See his love for the undeserving, the downtrodden, and the guilty. Watch the spurned tax collectors and prostitutes clamor around him. Hear him protect the woman caught in adultery: “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”

See his fearlessness. See him as he challenges the religious and political power brokers of his day. See him as he strides into a den of thieves to clear the temple grounds of the merchants.

See him as he travels to Jerusalem to face a certain death.

See his truth. He never flinches from the truth, even when it is hard. No soft-pedaling for Jesus. He embodies truth: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

See his holiness, his radiant and shining holiness. Even his jealous enemies could find no fault, no blemish, and no sin. He modeled full devotion and total obedience to the Father.

See his humility. He is always making outrageous claims, such as “He who has seen me has seen the Father.”

He claims to be the Creator, the Judge, and the Lord. Any other person who made such claims would be discounted as a megalomaniac or lunatic. But not Jesus. He has the peace-filled aura of humility.

Love. Wisdom. Power. Grace. Fearlessness. Truth. Holiness. Humility. And so much more.

Glory!
