Give God Your YesPrøve

I was a senior in college when I met and married Hank. Long before we met, we had both committed our lives to full-time Christian work. Together we have spent more than forty-eight years in a variety of ministries, and we have experienced many “but God” moments as we’ve followed the Lord’s direction for our lives and guided our sons to do the same. Our story is one of many “but God” moments. God had a plan not only for us but also for our dreamer sons. “Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20, KJV). As you walk through life, you may not see what God is doing or even why He is directing your life the way He is, but as you follow Him by faith, it eventually becomes clear. We learned that He was not just leading us; He was putting our sons in just the right place to follow His plan for them as well. “For I know the plans I have for you. . . . Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)
