Life-Giving Words to Bring Healing The centurion was a man of authority. He knew that when he gave his subordinates orders, they acted - immediately. So, when he approached Jesus for help, he understood a principle the people around him had missed. Jesus has far more Authority than the highest-ranking military official on Earth. He commands the armies of Heaven and controls the entire Universe. When Jesus agreed to heal his servant, the centurion stopped Him from traveling to his home. “I’m not worthy for You to come under my roof. Just simply say the word, and he will be healed.” The centurion’s faith floored Jesus. God has words throughout Scripture that speak directly to our healing, both physically and emotionally. We don’t have to muster up strength or solutions on our own. Like the centurion, we need to see our Savior as Sovereign over our situation and recognize Jesus’ Power and Authority over every obstacle we face in our lives.
