MIND SWITCH When one experiences a grave life-altering event it can feel as if the mind is trapped in a lifeless tomb bound by fear, chained to insecurity, and shackled with uncertainty.  There might be some outsiders who genuinely want to help the bound person experience a fruit-filled life of freedom, but their good intentions and inability to relate serve as a restrictive barrier holding the person back from experiencing genuine deliverance, growth, and progress. Also, there might be other outsiders who look at the bound person’s current condition with thoughts that there is no hope  for them because all they have to do is just get over it, “it’s not that big of a deal anyway.” A person's mind can be in a stationary state of pain, shock, and despair due to unhealed wounds, unaddressed trauma, and overlooked pain. But, what a blessing it is when Jesus Christ disrupts the dark tombs of life we find ourselves in with His light of love and power. There might be times when we’ve done all we could do on our own not seeing any change in our situation but Jesus Christ comes directly to us and exposes the areas where we once were bound in fear, Jesus now binds us in faith. Where insecurities once chained us, Jesus now chains us in His powerful confidence and when uncertainties shackled our spirit, Jesus now shackles us in the eternal promises of God. The power of Jesus can switch our mindset from despondency to deliverance in a moment’s time and scripture confirms a story similar to that. Scripture reveals a demon-possessed man whose mind and body was figuratively and literally bound, shackled, and chained due to an unclean spirit.  But when the man encountered Jesus a Divine Switch occurred. The Divine Switch was so noticeable that the man went from living isolated in a tomb harming himself to being in his right mind and a determined follower of Jesus Christ.  We should never underestimate what God can do for our minds. Jesus has the power to switch a person’s mind from thought-filled patterns of despair to destiny, from fear to faith, from depression to deliverance, from sorrow to strength, and from carelessness to confidence. Remain encouraged that Jesus can divinely switch your mind to align with his purpose and plan for your life.
