#JESUS2019 - Daily Devotionals

DAY 10 OF 48

Our life always fluctuates between times of closer or looser guidance, of great dependency or strong independence. As a child you were led by your parents for a long time. They showed you the right way. But at the latest as a teenager you become more independent, make your own decisions, go your own way and live your own life. The freedom of being able to shape your own life is something every person wants to have. Nobody likes to always be told what he should and shouldn’t do. At the same time, orientation, guidance and help are important. You have probably also been happy at one time or another when someone stopped you from doing something stupid. When God says that he is our shepherd, he promises to guide us. However, this does not mean that he chains us up and pulls us in the direction which he thinks is right. But he offers to orient you. He shines his light on the path which leads to life. Jesus offers you to give his life for you and to guide you into a life that you cannot even imagine yet. He has adventures ready for you and wants you to achieve more than you can see in yourself. He has done his part. What about you? ## ACTION STEP: Think about whether Jesus is the shepherd of your life or whether he should become it. Talk with him about your past experiences of “being guided” and let him show you how he guides people. ##### Toni Lehmann – ICF Grünheide
