I Believe It (The Life of Jesus)Mfano

Life to Death to Life I believe in the life of Jesus. I believe that He conquered death. I believe in the resurrection. As strange as it may feel to proclaim that we believe in Jesus’s life, I think that’s where we’ve got to start. The life of Jesus makes possible everything we can now claim as believers, like redemption, salvation, rescue, communion, and victory. When we were preparing to write this song, I looked back through the voice memos on my phone and realized I was in an era of constantly affirming what I still believed. During and after the pandemic, everything was crazy and felt off and uncertain, and I felt a passion to STILL believe what was true. In the face of a world beginning to doubt everything they’d ever believed, I could return to all that I’d experienced and known. The most miraculous reality about the life and death of Jesus is the fact that God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him-Acts 2:24. The life of Jesus ultimately conquered death, ransoming you and me from the hopelessness and darkness we would be subjected to without Him. God has been weaving a thread through my life that I can’t explain as happenstance, science, or coincidence. He did walk this earth, and He did die for our sins, and He did raise us from the dead with power in His hands. I fully believe that because I can see the thread across my life that convinces me that it’s because of Jesus.
