Open In Case Of Emergency

SIKU 1 YA 14

[IMAGE CONTENT] ## Jesus is in control If you ever get to walk along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, you won’t find many homes. That’s because the Jews have a negative view of water. See, the Hebrew word for water is mayim , which comes from the root word mah meaning chaos. And when you consider some of the stories in the bible, it’s easy to understand why they’re afraid; \- In Genesis, the beginning of creation was a watery chaos to which God brought order. \- Water flooded the earth in the time of Noah. \- Jonah was thrown into the sea after turning his back on God. \- Israelites were only rescued when God parted the Red Sea. So, when Jesus “insisted” his disciples cross the Sea of Galilee straight into a huge storm, I believe he was communicating something important to them. And when Jesus rescues them by walking on top of the water, he’s deliberately showing his followers that he is on top of all the chaos in their lives, and in control of every situation. Whatever stressful or frightening situation you’re facing, be reminded that not only is Jesus in full control of your chaos, he’s also calling you to get on top of the chaos with him.
