# Heart Band-Aids > The Spirit of the Lord God has taken control of me! The Lord has chosen and sent me to tell the oppressed the good news, to heal the brokenhearted, and to announce freedom for prisoners and captives. > Isaiah 61:1 (CEV) If you hurt your finger, or your big toe, you can get a Band-Aid. But what if you hurt your heart? What if hard things are making you sad? Who has a Band-Aid for that? God does! He knows there’s going to be bad, sad things in this world. It makes him sad, too. But there is a cure for all the sadness and hurt. His name is Jesus. In fact, Jesus himself talked about being chosen to come help the world. Because he was human, too, Jesus knows what it is like to scrape a knee or be sad. Jesus loves us, holds us, and comforts us. That’s the kind of Band-Aid he puts on our hearts. He will help us through the hard times. Ask him! Sometimes he sends other people to help, sometimes he helps us feel better, and sometimes he brings things in our life that make us smile. ## HERO TRAINING When you are sad or get hurt, your heart may feel broken—like it has cracks in it. You can always go to Jesus and he will help you feel better. He loves you! Draw a heart with a crack in it on some paper and some Band-Aids on the heart to help it get better. As you do, thank Jesus for his great love for you. ## GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD Many of our medicines come from plants! Jewel weed leaves can be crushed and rubbed on bug bites or poison ivy rash to take away the sting and itch.
