Resurrection: Hope in the Midst of SufferingSample

Resurrection: Hope in the Midst of Suffering

DAY 5 OF 5

In this devotional four central themes/questions were covered. 1. Do I have intimacy with God? 2. Am I imitating Christ enough? 3. Do I become hopeless too soon? 4. Am I looking forward to endless victory with Christ? While the apologetic answers are extremely relevant, it is but a tool to better understand God, His word, His realm and to share the Gospel. It is not the end but a means to an end - loving Him with all our minds. As this season ends, you will move into your daily works. Today is Monday. You may have moved away from the feeling that you had on Friday. But is that all? Are you going to intensely remember Christ’s death and resurrection for merely these 2-3 days? My dear brethren, Christ awaits us. He is looking forward to the day when we will be with Him. But He also knocks each day on the door of our hearts. Whoever hears, may open. He will supper with those who open the door for Him. What Christ beckons us towards is not merely a one-off fellowship. He desires to reside in our hearts, enthroned as Lord of our life, all the days of our life. Our great Apostle and High Priest wants us to engage in discipleship. It means abiding in Him, imitating Him, remaining anchored in Him and awaiting His victorious return. As you step back into your life after these holidays, may you reflect each day on your intimacy with Christ, your imitation of Him, and the hope that He gives. May you invite Him to every moment of the day until He calls us home. Prayer and meditation on His word are the only things that can build that intimacy, reveal and embed Christ’s character for imitation, and create hope through better understanding of His works. The Holy Spirit is our great counsellor and companion as He guides us to be perfect in Christ. Utilize the resources on this platform and others to build up your daily prayer and devotion. We can find comfort in Him as He works through these resources to lead us towards that great goal. Pray my dear brothers and sisters. Pray, because our spirit is willing but the desires of the flesh make us weak. May God bless you and be with you. #### Application Questions: * Reflect upon the glorious hope we have inherited through Christ. * Take a moment to introspect your life: Has meditating upon the Resurrection ceased to inspire me to look at life with newfound confidence? * Surrender yourself in prayer, and seek His face so that you may witness this glad tiding today onwards in your 9-5 lives too.
