Take the Focus Off You 

You are at your best you when you take the focus off yourself. Have you ever met someone who dominates the conversation and talks only about themselves? Me too. But, if we’re honest with ourselves, I’m sure we’ve been that person once or twice too. It’s important to let those around us know we genuinely care about them. One of my biggest tests in this area is with my siblings. Sometimes my sister walks into my room and wants to talk about what’s going on in her life. It’s easy to check out of the conversation and go into “la-la land,” but she has real issues she wants to talk about, and she trusts that I’m going to listen. Today, look for ways to encourage and help the people around you. As you listen and spend time with those people, you will actually learn a lot about yourself.
