DAY 2 OF 7

Can you HELP me?

Do you struggle to ask for help? I do! There is something inside me that keeps me from asking for help. It’s called stubbornness. I believe I should be able to do everything on my own, and this false belief keeps me from using this powerful word—“HELP!”

Think about how much easier your life could be if you readily acknowledged areas of your life where you needed help. How much time could you save on a trip if you stopped and asked, “Could you please help me find my way?” How much richer would your life be if you asked someone, “Could you help me with some wisdom? I don’t know what to do.”

King David wrote a beautiful song about where he went when he needed help:

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip— He who watches over you will not slumber;
Indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm— He will watch over your life;
The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalms 121:1-8, NIV)

David asked and answered his own question—he began with acknowledging his own need for help.

So, where do you need help today? Take a moment today and tell God all of the places where you need help. He already knows your needs, but confessing and asking crush the stubbornness within you!

Today, make the declarations that David made: “My help comes from the Lord”... “God will not let my foot slip”... “God is watching over me”... “God is my shade in the heat of trial”... “God will keep me from harm”... “God knows every time I go out and return”...Each of those declarations is a confidence builder! You are never without HELP because God, in His miraculous power, is ALWAYS with you!

You can be both the “helped” and the “helper”—allow God to be your ever-present source of help by continually asking Him for His supernatural help. Then, keep your eyes open to offer help to the people God places in your path.

You are a miracle!
