The Bible’s Blueprint Builds a Blessed Life

BUILD challenges us to build a life of personal obedience following the blueprint and plumb line of Scripture. Just as it is unwise to build a house without a blueprint, to install a cabinet without a plan, or to hang wallpaper without a plumb line, it is foolish to build a spiritual life without the Bible’s blueprint, the plumb line of truth. “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock” (Matthew 7:24 NLT). Along with building a strong spiritual foundation, BUILD also encourages us daily to identify God’s blessings in our lives and to look for opportunities to bless others.

“Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. I will test you with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. Since your refuge is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, a flood will sweep it away’” (Isaiah 28:16-17 NLT).

Measuring against the truth of Scripture, we can recognize the counterfeit lies of the world and the enemy through this Proverb study. The word proverb comes from the Hebrew word that means to rule or to govern. These short, concise sentences convey divine wisdom for daily life application and provide moral instruction as blueprints for living a blessed life.
