Now What?

DAY 4 OF 7

With so many examples in the Bible of how God desires to bless our life, we can be confident that if we do life his way, success will be part of our story. Maybe that’s why it’s easy to become confused and frustrated when things don’t turn out the way we think they should. As you live out God’s purpose for your life, there will be times when things go great and times when things don’t. What matters most to your Heavenly Father is that you trust him enough to do what he says. Hebrews, chapter 11 is often called ‘The Hall of Faith.’ I see it more as the ‘Just Don’t Quit’ chapter in the Bible. Many are called by name while others aren’t, but what they all have in common are these two words, ‘by faith.’ Due to their unwavering confidence in God, and their undying commitment to living out his purpose for their life, they stayed true to the path God led them down. They lived ‘by faith’ because they had their sights set on things that only God could give. Ultimately, they had their gaze set on eternity. Faith takes action by doing what God says to do because we trust that he’ll come through. The Bible is very clear that there’s nothing we can do to earn God’s love because it’s free. There is, however, something we can do to please him, and that’s to live by faith. God takes pleasure in the faith of his children. He loves it when we choose to trust him and then try and do something that might give him glory. Living by faith doesn’t promise prosperity and promotion in this life, but it does guarantee victory; victory over fear and doubt, shame, regret, purposeless living, and hopelessness. Living by faith positions us for miracles, enables us to defy the odds, turns our weakness into strength, and creates conquerors out of everyday, average people like you and me. Consider This: What might God be telling you to do that you’ve left undone? Step out in faith. Trust him and watch him come through.
