Growing Your Faith (And Baby) During Pregnancy

DAY 6 OF 7

Who will my child become? My husband and I love to guess what our little girl will be like when she grows up. Maybe she will be a vet and an animal lover like her daddy… or an artist, with a creative eye like her momma.

We play this guessing game over dinner and find ourselves curious as to what our daughter’s personality and character will be. It truly doesn’t matter to us, what the career she chooses or what her favorite music is, but we want her to live out her God given purpose.

It’s important that as parents, we encourage her to find what God has called her to.

I’m glad we still have lots of time before she goes into the real world, but I know that finding her purpose starts now. It begins with me surrendering my role as a mother to Christ. Asking Him to guide me into nurturing her talents and passions, even as a little girl.

Although it’s easy to believe that we know what is best for our child (and in some scenarios this is true), letting them explore all their interests is actually allowing them to discover what God has made them for.

Everyday I pray that God would help me to be an encouraging mother. That He would prepare my heart, mind, and soul to be my daughter’s biggest cheerleader along the way. It’s important to begin shaping our thoughts and actions now, so we can best support the person God is calling our child to be.
