Who Am I

DAY 7 OF 20

Luke wrote two books of the Bible for a man named Theophilus. He filled those books with first-hand, eyewitness accounts of what Jesus said and did while He was on Earth. Luke started his second book, the book we know as Acts, with some interesting language. Luke said that “in his former book” (what we know as the book of Luke), he “wrote about all that Jesus began to do and teach.” He wrote about what Jesus began, and then, Jesus gave the apostles the Holy Spirit so that could continue. Well, God has given all of us that same Spirit. He wants us to carry on the work that Jesus started. When Jesus was on earth, He did Kingdom work. He made the world more loving, forgiving, just, and good. He spread love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and goodness wherever He went. And because of that, the world looked more like His Kingdom. As His followers today, we are called to do the same. We are to, by the guidance and help of the Spirit inside of us, make our little part of the world look more like God’s Kingdom.

Consider the spaces you occupy on a regular basis. Your job, your home, your church, your community—how can you bring more of God’s Kingdom to light in those places?
