Discerning God's Will for Your LifeSample

Discerning God's Will for Your Life

DAY 5 OF 5

Many know what they should do but don’t. Most of God’s general will is revealed in the Bible. The key is to do what He says in His Word and not only to learn about it.

In Philippians 3:15, Paul is saying, do what you already know you should do. Sometimes the will of God is very obvious; we just do not want to do it. That comes right back to the Lordship of Jesus in our lives.

I am reminded of the words that the prophet Samuel tells Saul–do as the occasion demands. (1 Samuel 10:7).

I'm not talking about immoral, illegal, or antibiblical decisions. I am referring to situations when there is a fork in the road and both decisions are Scriptural, but you are unsure of the next step to take. In cases like that, I encourage you to do what you think you should do (do what the occasion demands).

Trust the Holy Spirit; He is guiding your life.

If you take a wrong turn, the Holy Spirit will also let you know.

You can discern the will of God by the illumination of the Holy Spirit. It's like a tug or pull on your heart. You can also discern the will of God through the confirmation of circumstances and the counsel of others.

I pray that God will lead your life.

This life is not merely about going to heaven. It’s being led by the Spirit of God, discerning God’s will, and actually obeying His will. It is the most incredible adventure you can have.

Let's Pray:

Father God, Your will is for me to live a life surrendered to You in obedience. Holy Spirit, take the lead and give me the wisdom to act according to what the occasion demands. Thank You, Lord because I know You have a great future planned for me. I trust Your will.

About this Plan

Discerning God's Will for Your Life

The number one question I hear from people is, “How can I know what God’s will is for my life?” I would agree that it’s a valid question to have. How can anyone know what God desires in their ministry, job, marriage, or ...
