SOAP – Proverbs 10:19 Self-control and wisdom can be demonstrated by limiting our words. It is not just what we say or how we say it that has importance, but also what we do not say. God teaches us that controlled speech can enhance a person’s reputation. We learn here that even a fool benefits from self-control and restraint of her speech. In what situation or with whom is the Holy Spirit urging you to limit your words? There is great wisdom in limiting our words and allowing our Spirit-led actions and behavior speak for us. Father God, I thank You for the gift of keen discernment. Lord, take control of my mouth. Help me to control my tongue. Give me wisdom and Your discernment to know when to speak and when not to speak. Help me to keep my words few so that Your works through me, and not my words, may be glorified. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
