The Ageless One in Time's Embrace

DAY 6 OF 7

God the Son showed us who God the Father is

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

When God the Son became man, He temporarily laid aside His mighty power and glory. He looked just like an ordinary man. And yet, God’s glory became visible in Him. Not in His outward appearance, but in Him being “full of grace and truth.”

When God revealed Himself to Moses, He called Himself “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness…”. Jesus Christ is the exact representation of God’s being (see Hebrews 1:3), and by living among us humans, He made the Father known.

He showed what selfless love is by dying innocently for the sins of mankind. But He also showed mercy and grace in His encounters with the sick, with people on the fringes of society, or with people who were genuinely seeking God. He cured people of their illnesses, freed them from demons, explained God's Kingdom, and was moved with compassion for the exhausted and helpless crowds.

If you want to know Who God is, look to Jesus. He says, “Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). For God the Father and God the Son are one.

What do Jesus’ words and actions teach you about God the Father?
