Purpose in Pain

DAY 2 OF 4

Today we are focusing on James 1. He writes a letter and tells us that we should take any troubling moments in our lives as joyful opportunities because the trials that we go through will help us develop to trust God more. He tells us when we need wisdom or understanding we must turn to God because God generously pours out wisdom.

Turning away from God's wisdom shows our lack of faith, so when we do receive wisdom we should accept it.

God may allow suffering in our lives but he will never use our suffering to pull us away from him. God encourages us to become closer to him when going through hard times.

All in all, God wants us to trust in him more as we navigate through difficult times and life. Our hardships are for us to become closer to God. It's to help us get the wisdom and endurance we need to get prepared for our purpose.

Reflection

What does faith in Christ look like in a believer's life?

When trusting in God, what choices does it lead us to make?

Are you willing to accept God's wisdom?

Prayer

Lord, help me to receive the wisdom you generously pour into our lives. Even when I don't understand the situation or why I'm going through hard times I wholeheartedly will put my trust in you because I know that there will always be joy in the most difficult situations in life.
I pray that my faith never wavers because I know you have the best plan laid out for my life. Amen.
