Simply Living

DAY 11 OF 15

The disciple Timothy encouraged believers to pray for kings and all those in authority. Not just those in our country. In our intercession we need to hold all leaders lovingly before God; and ask that they be supported and strengthened to do their work for the good of all.

In Proverbs 21:1, we are assured that God can turn the heart of political leaders. “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.”

When we practice intercessory prayer, we hold the needs of others before God. In praying for our political leaders, let’s consider what we want for our communities. Let’s lift up regions of the world, such as those suffering the effects of war.

Response: Let's pray that God helps us in our intercession for people in authority, in our country and around the world. Ask for insight and for the ability to be consistent in praying for the things God reveals. Pray for wise Christian counselors to be raised to positions of influence.
