Dear Jesus,
If I score the winning run, You love me. If I flunk the big test, You love me. If I do something great, You love me. If I mess up and fall on my face, You still love me. You love me no matter what. Thank You!
Sometimes though, Lord, I still wonder: Am I doing enough good things for You to keep on loving me? Please help me remember that Your love doesn’t depend on what I do. You love me with a Love that will last forever. I don’t have to work for it or worry about losing it. You have covered me with Your coat of goodness for all eternity! That means nothing will ever change Your love for me!
You’re also showing me that I’m not very good at judging myself. When I try to do something right and it doesn’t turn out very well, I feel like I’ve completely messed up. But You’re happy and pleased with me because I tried.
Instead of worrying about whether the things I’m doing are good enough, help me focus on Your Love. It never fails, and it lasts forever. That’s something to be really excited about!
