Don’t Feed Greed

DAY 6 OF 9

Do good things and share, even when it’s hard to do.

The Bible tells us God is pleased when we sacrifice to do good and share with those in need.

A sacrifice is giving up something you love for something you love even more. When we sacrifice for those in need, we’re serving God and showing generosity.

What sacrifices can you make to help someone who’s in need?

Maybe you’ve got a toy you really like, but you see someone without any toys, so you give it to them. Maybe you want to keep all your playtime for yourself, but you decide to help your neighbor with yardwork instead.

Sometimes it’s hard to do good things like that for others and share with people in need. But God always loves it, and each time we do it our hearts grow more generous.

Watch the video, then use the Bible verse Hebrews 13:16 to play Missing Words. It will help you remember to do good and share, even when it’s hard to do!

Missing Words

  1. Read Hebrews 13:16 out loud to your friends and family.
  2. Say the verse out loud again, but leave one word out.
  3. The first person to figure out the missing word is the winner.
  4. Repeat with a different person reading the verse out loud.

Talk It Over: Talk about a time you sacrificed something to help someone in need. How did it make you feel? How does it change your heart when you do good and share? If it’s really hard to do good or share with someone, how can you get yourself to do it anyway?
