Switch: How To Follow Jesus

DAY 5 OF 6

Time Spent

Have you ever gotten to go on a really awesome vacation or on a visit to someone you love to be around? Can you remember how you felt leading up to the day? How about the night before? It was probably hard to fall asleep from all the excitement flowing through your veins.

How excited do you get to spend time with God? The Creator of the Universe wants to spend time with you right now. That’s incredible! God wants a relationship with you. That means you know about each other, share your hearts, and just enjoy being together. It might be a little hard to imagine for you, but the more you spend time with God, the more you’ll learn about Him.

The two best ways to spend time with and get close to God is to read the Bible and pray. You’re already developing a great habit of reading the Bible since you’re on the fifth day of this Bible Plan. Awesome job! But what about prayer? Does it have to include certain words? Does it have to be out loud? Do you have to kneel? Does it have to sound poetic? Nah. Don’t stress. Prayer just means talking with God. You can do it anytime, anywhere.

Try this prayer as a way to get started. God, thank You for loving me. I want to know You more. Help me to understand the Bible when I read it. I want to spend more time with You, so help me remember to. Thank You for all You’re doing in my life. I love You! In Jesus’ name, amen.
