Are you fully conscious?
Do you know what consciousness is? It is "the state of being awake and aware of one's surroundings."
Are you fully conscious? Are you aware of what is around you, coming into all of your senses?
Maybe you're wondering, "How do I know if I am or not? And why is that so important?" I'll gladly tell you: when you'refully conscious, you are aware that you're never alone!
You may now say to me, "Déborah, you have to understand—I'm often so stressed out, I have to get things done quickly, and I'm tired. I don't think I can do the 'living fully consciously' thing."
'Living fully consciously' isn't something you could ever do yourself! Knowing that to be the case, Jesus found a solution before you even struggled in this area: "'And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever'" (John 14:16, NKJV)
This Helper, the Holy Spirit, is the One you can invite into your life through prayer to help you live fully consciously. Something happens when you pray…so you should pray for something to happen!
The Holy Spirit will help you experience what true consciousness and awareness are all about. With the Holy Spirit alive and active within you, you'll be aware of what is happening in your environment, and He will help you see the good! Instead of fear, you will find peace. Instead of hopelessness, you will see hope.
Jesus said, "'But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you…'" (John 14:26-27, NKJV). The Holy Spirit wants to remind you of everything wonderful, everything Jesus has said and can do! You'll be able to be fully conscious and full of hope, thanks to the Holy Spirit!
Why don’t you take a few minutes now to consciously invite the Holy Spirit to become active in your life, strengthen you, and help you see the amazing divine possibilities around you in everyday life? He will do it! :-)
