Embrace Change - One Step at a Time

DAY 5 OF 5

A Fresh Start

How long will this period of change last?

This change may be one moment, a matter of days, or a year or longer. Is there an answer that makes you feel better about the uncertainty? I’m not sure, so don’t concentrate on that.

Instead, think of change as a fresh start — a chance for a personal renewal as fresh as morning dew. One thing that is certain about life is you won’t make it through without change. On the bright side, the one thing that never changes is God. His word is timeless, and His promises are everlasting.

You might be surprised to find that speaking with others who are in a similar situation will bring you immense comfort. Not only that, but it will alleviate the “I’m the only one this is happening to” concern that can feel suffocating.

It’s been several years since I lost my husband, and my life is ever changing. Passing conversations have shown me that God equips us with experiences to help one another. In those moments, I know God is smiling down on me and watching me heal. I praise Him for bringing you and me together through this devotional this week.

God bless you.

Heavenly Father, thank You for this opportunity to be more like You, to walk with You in this time of change. Thank You for allowing me to share my delight in Your glory and make You proud as I make my way on this new path You’ve so thoughtfully paved for me. Your word and many blessings offer me strength, and I’m excited to walk in yoke with You. Your will is my way. I pray that You’ll use me to help others along this journey. I humbly listen for Your guidance. Amen.
