Soul Care: Intentionally Shaping Your Identity Into God’s Masterpiece

DAY 5 OF 5

Renew Your Mind through Daily Intentional Action- RENNEW Framework

Living a rested, renewed, abundant life is not an accident. It is a series of intentional decisions, feelings, behaviors, and habits that form together to create the identity that aligns with the extraordinary, God’s identity for us. Creating this life requires establishing a rhythm, a momentum to develop these habits and eventually co-creating this identity with God. The way that we can do this is by renewing our minds. A great way to help us remember this is through the acronym RENNEW.

R- Reveal and define how God sees you. We can dream with God and visualize the life that He has for us and use this as our guidepost. Ephesians 2:10

E - Explore the things that are holding you back. Discovering how we speak to ourselves and how we think about ourselves can cause a gap between how we see ourselves and how God sees us. Proverbs 23:7; Proverbs 18:21

N - Nurture the Vision - We have to nurture the vision that God reveals to us as we dream with Him. Write it down. Pray about it. Journal. Ask God to reveal to us in our journal how we can be more like Him and where we need to be obedient in His pruning. Habakkuk 2:2

N - Need to Believe - We need to believe what God says about us. We need to know that the war has already been won on our behalf. We need to believe and have faith even in the unseen because we know and trust God to be who He says He is. We can grow our belief by focusing on God and His love for us in desiring us to have life more abundantly. John 10:10; Hebrews 11:1

E - Establish Your Blueprint - We have to be intentional and co-create with God a daily plan of action to become more like God. Practically, we have to keep God’s vision in mind for us daily to think, feel, behave, and identify like Christ. We have to create a daily practice or discipline that will help us form the habits that will help shape the identity that aligns with Christ.

2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; James 2:26

W - Work Your Blueprint - We have to take daily, deliberate, intentional action to form new habits that will, in turn, help us form our new identity. We can do this by creating yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals that align with the vision that we saw when we dreamed with God. We can do this by journaling, adding the goals to our calendar, and making it a part of our daily practice and discipline. Then we need to repeat this every time there is something that God has revealed to us that He wants to cultivate and co-create in us. 2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2; James 2:26; John 15:2

By following the RENNEW framework, you can intentionally care for your soul and continuously grow into the woman God has called you to be.

Application / Reflection:

  1. How will you use the RENNEW Framework to help you create a daily intentional practice of conforming to Christ?
  2. Which specific area in your life do you need to renew with God?
  3. What has God revealed to you throughout this devotion and His plans for you?
