Discover the Power of Prayer

DAY 3 OF 5

Prayer warriors are not shrouded in mystery. They do not practice fancy knee work, recite magic formulas, or even wear armor. They are ordinary people blessed by an extraordinary God. They are people like you and me: people who have decided that prayer needs to be a priority in their day- to-day lives. These people think of prayer as they think of talking to their best friend. Natural. Open. A relationship.

Prayer involves our hearts, the deepest part of who we are. When we consistently set ourselves toward the work of prayer, we will find that God will show us ways we need to change. We will find that praying in His will won’t always be easy, yet the benefits will be overwhelming. We will start to see God work in situations, overshadowing them far and above what we could have ever envisioned.

When a warrior goes out to fight, he does not forget any weapons! When someone wants to do a good job on a business presentation, there is much thought given to the points to be covered, the media used to present the plan, and even the clothing that should be worn.

The most important spiritual key, the one that will help more than any other preparation, is already in your pocket. It is the greatest weapon. It is the key that will unlock the door of God’s blessing and power. This key called “prayer” is in our pocket and is the first secret of a prayer warrior.

Ephesians 6:18 tells us, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Think about the fact that we can always pray. We never have to worry that God is on a coffee break or at an important meeting. He is always available and He desires for us to pray to Him.

This is the first and most important secret of God’s prayer warriors, knowing about the key. Knowing we can pray and that the power of prayer is the biggest constant in our lives.

When asked the secret of his spiritual power, Charles Spurgeon said, “Knee work! Knee work!”

God doesn’t just listen to preachers and mighty men and women of the Word, He listens to all of us. Prayer is not dependent on the greatness of the warrior, rather it is dependent on the greatness of the warrior’s God.

What about you? Do you arm yourself everyday with the most important weapon? Do you take time to pray? If not, ask God to help you make it a habit. Practice prayer throughout your day. Don’t just say a quick prayer in the morning. Say a quick prayer before every phone call, before you talk to your boss, or before you speak harshly to someone.
