Never Give Up (High School)Sample

Have you ever put your hope in the wrong thing? Maybe you hoped being in a relationship would change your social status; maybe you hoped that an accomplishment in school or a new job would make you feel fulfilled. When we place our hope in these types of things, they typically let us down, and that disappointment can cause us to question whether it’s worth it to keep hoping. The reality is that when we lose hope in our lives, we fail to see how God is working around us. We can begin to get depressed and anxious.

When we place our hope in Jesus, He will never let us down. When we place our hope in Him, we can see how He is working all around us and that gives us a reason to hope. As the writer of Psalms says, “My only hope is in you.” The writer of this verse has realized that the only way for him to keep hope in his life is if he places it in Jesus. When we realize that Jesus is the only one who can bring us lasting hope, then that is when our lives can truly begin to change.

Today, I challenge you to place your hope in Jesus – not situations like a relationship, class, or social media status.
