DAY 5 OF 7

To sin is to miss the target

Every person who lives in sin has missed the mark, failing to live in the eternal purpose designed by God for His children. There are two types of people: those who live in sin, who are lost and have missed the mark, and those who found the purpose for which God gave them life. By faith, they understood that in God’s design, He predestined them to be His children. Consequently, they can live the abundant life for which they were predestined.

We were created to be children of God. God is not an irresponsible father, as many think. Human parents can miss something, but not God. You were born with a specific purpose; God designed you to know and understand it. As children of God, we participate in the divine nature, the same nature as Jesus.

When we are born physically, we all have what we call a natural life. Our natural life began when we were conceived. We were made alive in the Spirit when we were immersed in Christ, when we heard the Word of God and believed in Him. You may be crossing over, immersing yourself in the Word, entering into the zoe life, the life in the Spirit. You may therefore begin to walk, to live, to experience fullness in God.

The children of God have communion with Him. It is an eternal communion. God is not a father who abandons His children; in fact, He promises, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” The truth is that a mother may not be happy when she has to change diapers, but that doesn't mean she abandons her children. How many times have we been wrong? But God is still patient with us. Parents can divorce, but there is no divorce between parents and children.

About this Plan

The reality of our identity

Are we Christians? Are we believers? Are we God’s children? What is our identity in reality? In this devotional, we find the foundation for our identity, to understand how we got it and what is the meaning of life.
