There is a mythological story I read when I was a kid which has stuck in my mind ever since. It’s about a king who was granted a magical wish by the Greek gods, that whatever he touched would turn to gold. This King Midas was so excited about his magical power that he started touching everything around him - his plate, his spoon, the plants, the bed he slept on, and everything magically turned to gold.

He soon became rich beyond measure. The point of the story I want to drive home today is that we serve a Living God, Jesus Christ (and not a mythical god), who promises us that “whatever we touch” i.e. “whatever our hand finds to do” will prosper (Psalms 1:3)! The Bible says that whatever Joseph did prospered; whatever David did prospered; whatever Ruth did prospered! 

The mythical Greek story actually ends sadly where the King Midas touches his own son and alas, his son turns to gold and the king is deeply saddened! But the Good News for us believers is that our Abba Father promises us that “the Blessing of the Lord, it makes rich and He adds NO sorrow with it” (Prov 10:22)! Be rest assured that as you put in your hard work in your office today, God will add NO sorrow to it. He promises to bless the work of your hands always. 

If you ever feel you are inadequate to go up to your next level in your corporate career, that you are not qualified enough, not smart enough, not connected enough, God is telling us today - you have the “Midas touch.” Whatever your hand finds to do - whether it’s working on a strategic PowerPoint presentation or 5-year business plan on Excel sheets or submitting a concept paper on Word document, or writing a song or movie script or playing the guitar or handling the mixer - you get the drift, whatever your hands find to do WILL prosper! That Midas touch got into your DNA as soon as you became a Christ-follower! That is the supernatural magical wand our Abba Father has blessed us with to succeed in our corporate jobs! 

As you go to work today and use your skill (and Midas touch) for His Glory, God promises that you will not stand before mean men, but before kings and princes (Prov 22:29)! He will take you places you never dreamed of!
