Do the right thing 👍

“Do the right thing” consistently echoes in my brain. This horrible pandemic has rocked all of us. The political turmoil and fight for the truth have destabilized us all to a greater or lesser extent. I’ve been telling all of my friends and readers to stay strong and do the right thing no matter what. The Bible says, “‘Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.’” (Exodus 20:12, NKJV) There’s not a lot of honor in our society anymore. The Bible warns us that in the last days, “People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,” (2 Timothy 3:2, NIV).

It seems like nations, cities, and families are falling into chaos. There have been many theories of conspiracy and secret societies with hidden, malevolent intentions. Is this what’s causing all the unrest, riots, and divisions in our world right now, or is there a darker entity at work behind the scenes? What do you think is really going on? 

I was studying the book of Ephesians a few days ago, looking for answers, and I discovered this revelation: “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” (Ephesians 2:1-2, NIV) Wow! Do you see what’s really going on? Paul the Apostle identified three important truths:  

1. We all lived according to the path of the world. It reminds me of Romans 12: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2, NIV)   


2. We lived according to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, wow! There is an entity that has authority over the air, maybe even the airwaves.  


3. He’s the spirit that energizes the sons of disobedience. Incredible! Right? 

The Bible plainly warns us that things are not as they appear. Jesus also made a very clear statement about this invisible entity: “‘The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.’” (John 10:10, NKJV) Jesus calls Satan the “thief.” He’s intent on destroying, killing, and robbing you. He’s malicious. 

So what can we do to defeat him and his vicious intentions? The answers are clear: go back to the Bible, back to the basics. Honor God, your father, and your mother, and watch God turn things around. He’ll make you a miracle in a very dark world.
