Through the Bible: Esther

DAY 1 OF 3

Seek and Do God’s Will

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?

Esther 4:14 (NIV)

From these few chapters, what can we learn from the life of Esther?  First, she risked her life by coming before the king to save the people of Israel. Her courageous acts gave us a model to follow as we face difficulties and challenges in life. When Esther and Mordecai faced a life-threatening situation, they did not try to save only themselves. Instead, they saw how God had put them in their positions for a purpose for such a time and acted. When it is within our ability to save others, we must act on it. In facing challenges, don’t have self-pity, behave selfishly or wait for God to fix everything. Instead, ask God for His direction, and act! God may have placed you where you are now “for just such a time as this.”

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, You are indeed amazing who can place the right people in the right place at the right time. May we all be the right vessels to advance Your Kingdom's purposes. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
