Christian Friendships and Marriages

Intimate and vulnerable human relationships are difficult in any culture but seem to be a particularly big challenge in Japan where over 40% of middle-aged men report having no deep friendships, and where the vast majority of marriages are void of deep intimacy.



Let's agree for believers to build deep, vulnerable friendships and for a revival of Christian marriages.

WORSHIP - Praise the Lord and give the glory due His name.

Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty,



Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.



Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;



Worship the Lord in the beauty and majesty of His holiness [as the creator and source of holiness]. Psalm 29:1-2 (AMP)

Lord, we ascribe to You glory and strength; the glory due to Your name; we worship You, LORD, in the splendor of Your holiness. 

DECLARE - God’s delight is the divine destiny of Japanese believers.

You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,



and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no more be termed Forsaken,



and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,



and your land Married; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married.



For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you. Isaiah 62:3-5 (ESV)

We declare Japanese believers to be a crown of splendor in the LORD's hand - they will no longer be called Deserted because the LORD will take delight in them, and the land of Japan will be married. We declare that God will rejoice over you, Japan!

PRAY - Please help believers follow the clear biblical blueprint for healthy Christian marriage.

Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21 (NRSV)

Father, help Japanese Christian couples submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Give them a revelation of Your heart for marriage - for mutual respect and love through the power of the cross.
